Trezor SuitTrezor Bridge — Secure Connection for Your Trezor®
Overview: This short presentation explains the role of Trezor Suite and the legacy Trezor Bridge, key security practices, and how to migrate safely to the supported software.
What is Trezor Suite?
Trezor Suite is the official desktop and web application for managing your Trezor hardware wallet. Use it to send/receive coins, manage accounts, and perform device verification and firmware updates.
What was Trezor Bridge?
Trezor Bridge was a local communication daemon that enabled browsers and web apps to talk to Trezor devices without browser extensions. The Bridge code and daemon (trezord / trezord-go) have historically been published on GitHub.
Important: The standalone Trezor Bridge has been deprecated. Trezor recommends using Trezor Suite and uninstalling legacy Bridge installations that may interfere with Suite releases.
Security best practices
- Always download software and firmware from trezor.io or official resellers.
- Verify device authenticity and firmware hashes during setup.
- Keep backups (seed phrase) offline — prefer metal backups and secure storage.
- Uninstall deprecated software (like the standalone Bridge) if recommended by official Trezor guides.
Quick migration checklist
- Install Trezor Suite (desktop recommended) from the official site.
- Connect device, verify authenticity, update firmware if prompted.
- If you have old Bridge installed, follow official uninstall instructions.
- Store your recovery seed securely and confirm recovery behavior in a controlled test.
